America faces a pivotal crisis to vehemently defend the U.S. Constitution and protect the civil rights of its citizens. We are living in an era when civil rights of our most vulnerable are blatantly violated. Injustice, discrimination, disparities, and inequities are rampant. Legal activism and the constitutional power to demand social justice can be neither inoperative nor silent. By revisiting the social justice strategies and legal victories of civil rights attorney Thurgood Marshall (e.g., Miranda v. Arizona, 1966; United States v. Price, 1966; Boynton v. Virginia, 1960; Shelley v. Kraemer, 1948; Sweatt v. Painter, 1950), the luncheon speech will draw inspiration to unapologetically uphold and secure justice for all!
